Tom could hardly believe it was her. He had watched her walk up on the stage, stunned with surprise. Despite his surprise he did recover enough to listen to her perform. She was good. She had Jane Eyre's qualities, quiet yet thoughtful, straight forward. She would get the role for sure and he would be able to meet her.
